Returns & Refunds Policy
At Hull Knives and Tools, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This policy explains your rights and how returns and refunds are handled.
Your Right to Cancel (UK & EU Distance Sales)
If you purchase from us online, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason.
To exercise your right to cancel, please notify us before the cancellation period expires by using the contact form on our website or by emailing us.
If your order has not yet been dispatched, we will issue a full refund as soon as possible.
If your order has already been dispatched, please refuse delivery where possible or return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us that you wish to cancel.
Returning Your Item
Returned items must:
- Be returned within 14 days of cancellation.
- Be securely packaged.
- Be in a clean and resaleable condition.
- Include any original packaging and accessories where reasonably possible.
You may inspect the goods as you would in a retail shop, but you are responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.
Return Costs
Unless the item is faulty, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise required by law, you are responsible for the cost of returning cancelled goods.
As returned goods remain your responsibility until they reach us, we strongly recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service and retaining proof of postage.
Refunds
Once we receive your returned goods (or proof that they have been returned), we will process your refund within 14 days.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method.
Where applicable, we will also refund the original standard delivery charge paid when you placed your order. Additional delivery charges for premium or express services are not refundable.
If returned goods have been damaged through unnecessary handling or are not returned, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value, as permitted by law.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If your item:
- arrives damaged;
- develops a manufacturing fault; or
- is not as described,
please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and, where appropriate, photographs of the issue.
Depending on the circumstances, we will arrange a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund in accordance with your legal rights.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot normally be cancelled or returned unless they are faulty or not as described:
- Custom-made or personalised products.
- Products manufactured to your individual specifications.
- Any other items exempt from cancellation rights under applicable consumer legislation.
International Returns
Customers outside the United Kingdom should clearly mark returned parcels as "Returned Goods" and complete any required customs documentation (such as CN22 or CN23 forms).
Customers are responsible for reclaiming any import duties or taxes paid to their local customs authority where applicable, as these cannot be refunded by Hull Knives and Tools.
How to Request a Return
Please contact us before returning your item using the contact form on our website, providing:
- Your name
- Order number
- Details of the item(s) you wish to return
